Sutherland Shire UAV

Sutherland Shire Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (SSUAV) was formed in 2011 with the goal to compete in  UAV Outback Challenge. After crashing out at the D3 & D2 stage of the 2014, 2016 & 2018 OBC the team is now determined to go one better  in the 2020 UAV Challenge Medical Express. Held in rural Australia, the UAV Outback Challenge is a biennial competition attracting both local and international teams.

The objective of the event is to demonstrate the utility of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for civilian applications. The competitors will be required to develop a UAV that could save lives by quickly and cost effectively delivering medical supplies and situational awareness to critically ill patients in the Australian Outback.

SSUAV are presently building & testing Unmanned Aircrafts capable of autonomously searching for, locating & virtically landing and searching a farm shed to set up two way comunications with “Outback Joe” then return safety home within 1 hour!

If you would like to support Sutherland Shire UAV, interested in knowing more about our project and team activities or just want to say G’Day, please feel free to send us a message via our SSUAV email.
